Jumbos all,
Since 1982, The Primary Source (@TuftsSource (THIS IS NEW MEDIA)) has acted with the goal of providing the Tufts student body with an alternative point of view from the dominant left-wing discourse on campus. Tufts President Larry Bacow said in 2006 that “We must embrace diversity in every possible dimension, and learn from our differences.” We at the Source are proud to contribute to Tufts’ intellectual diversity in our own way.
Our publication comes out every two to three weeks with articles and commentary on campus, local, state, national, and international affairs. Though we're primarily an opinion magazine, there are always opportunities for creative expression and original reporting. More than anything, we want to spark rational dialogue, provide a voice to the voiceless, and report on issues that matter to Tufts students.
Perhaps most importantly, The Primary Source allows its contributors to advocate for freedom on behalf of each generation of Jumbos, regardless of political label. If you identify as conservative, libertarian, classical liberal, contrarian, objectivist, anarchist, ‘moderate’, frustrated progressive, cyber vegan, data pagan, seriously, whatever, the Source has a place for you.
We’re currently seeking students who are interested in writing, layout, publishing, and web editing. Previous journalism experience is nice, but certainly not necessary. If you’re interested in contributing in any way go ahead and sign up for our elist (link below) for forthcoming details on our interest meeting.
